Yesterday : Russell BROOKES / Neil WILSON – Manx International Rally 1989
The partnership between Andrews - Heat for Hire and Russell Brookes is a special case in the history of sponsorship. When he signed a partnership contract with the heating and air conditioning equipment rental company in 1974, the pilot had no idea that it would last until the end of his career. And it's a dozen cars that have worn the yellow colours that have become famous over the years. Among them this Sierra Cosworth with which he won the Manx Rally 1989. An event which then counted for the European Rally Championship.
Passionate about motor sports on 2 or 4 wheels, Dominique Sibieude raced in motocross, autocross and also ice races. A talented mechanic, he has worked in Moto GP and endurance racing. So, he was not afraid by this task. Judge for yourself: by coupling a crashed Sierra Cosworth and an XR4i, he built this replica of Brookes' auto by remaking all the specific parts himself, including the hoop, with help from his dad. Even the stickers are homemade!
