The Ford Mustang is the muscle car par excellence. It owes its success in France largely to the genius of Henri Chemin, director of public relations at Ford-France. This pope of communication first made two Mustangs available to a young director, Claude Lelouche, for his film A Man and a Woman. For nearly forty minutes, the Ford steals the show from the couple Jean-Louis Trintignant-Anouk Aimée.
On the heels of this first publicity stunt, Henri Chemin had another idea: to entrust a Munstang to Johnny Halliday in order to participate in the 1967 Monte-Carlo Rally. This is how the Idole des Jeunes found himself at the start of the most prestigious rallies, with Henri Chemin himself as co-driver. Even if it is rumored that Henri Chemin drove for most of the event. They will unfortunately be forced to retire, but the most important thing was done: talk about Ford!
Adelbert Engler is considered in Belgium as "the man with 5500 Mustangs". From a model 65 wreck, which he patiently restored, he built this perfect replica of the 1967 Monte-Carlo car.
