Yesterday : Attila FERJANCZ / János TANDARI - Rally Costa Brava 1984

For nearly twenty years, Attila FERJANCZ represented Renault at the top of Hungarian rallies, winning 8 titles at the wheel of the company's cars, from the R17 Gordini to the R5 Turbo. It was at the wheel of the latter that he made a name for himself in France, where he participated several times in several rounds of the Championship.

At the end of Rallye du Var where he had to retire following a fire, Michel CRESPEL bought what was left of the car. He then patiently reassembled this Renault 5 Turbo Cévennes, using exclusively original parts, without giving in to the temptation to resort to remanufacturing. It must be said that this former Renault after-sales service manager, now retired, knows diamond cars well. It is besides at the wheel of an R5 turbo that he begins, in a very beautiful way since he finishes immediately on the second step of the podium. He will drive the turbocharged bomb for 5 seasons before following the evolution of the range and switching to the Clio. He will take it out of the garage in 2009, this time to take part in historic rallies. Eternal enthusiast, Michel CRESPEL has since taken on major events such as the Tour de Corse or the Morocco Historic Rally of which he is a faithful.

But this competitor at heart will for the first time put aside the stopwatch and participate for the pure pleasure of driving in the Alsace Rallye Festival. On this occasion, he will find in the right-hand seat Michel BACONNAIS, the co-driver with whom he took the start of his first rally.
