 Yesterday : Dany SNOBECK / Maurice GELIN - Rallye Monte-Carlo 1978

In December 1977, Simca presented a final evolution of the Simca 1000. After Rallye and Rallye 2, here is Rally 3. Everything in the car is intended for competition, including the number of copies produced - 1000 - just enough to get homologation for rally. Polyester fender extensions, transverse rear exhaust, rear spoiler, aluminium rims ... And under the rear cover, the SRT kit of the Rallye 2 kit, adapted to be homologated on the road. The two Solex carburettors are replaced by two Weber and the compression ratio increased to 13:1, an exceptional value. The power then climbs to 103 horsepower and the top speed exceeds 180 km / h. All 1000 copies sold from December 1977 to May 1978 were delivered in ivory white. And the vast majority has been used in competition where it has delighted the private drivers.

Christian RIGAUT has chosen to reproduce the car that Dany SNOBECK entered in the 1978 Monte-Carlo Rally. The Nancy driver, and his co-driver Maurice GELIN, will unfortunately not see the arrival of this memorable edition won by Jean-Pierre NICOLAS, after they crashed.
