Yesterday : Sébastien LOEB / Daniel ELENA - Rallye du Rouergue 1999

After a first season in 1997 marked by amazing times flying a 106, the Ambition Sport Auto team decided to take a step forward by acquiring a Citroën Saxo Kit-Car in order to enter Sébastien LOEB in the newly created trophy. The 1998 season was marked by a first scratch victory but also by two road trips. The white car will thus give way to a new body, the yellow color of which will soon be the darling of the spectators. The young Alsatian prodigy did not give his opponents a chance during the 1999 season and won the trophy. He was now on a launch pad that would take him to the highest level of motorsport. The Saxo was sold to Christophe VOIRIN then passed from hand to hand and evolved into Super 1600.

Rémi MAMMOSSER and Patrick REUTENAUER were the great fundraisers of Ambition Sport Auto. LOEB passed under the control of Citroën Sport, they continued discreetly to help young drivers. And it was the father of one of them who one day called MAMMOSSER to inform him that he had bought a Saxo whose technical passport was in the name of the Alsatian team. The yellow paint discovered by scratching the bodywork left no doubt: it was indeed the ex-LOEB. He offered to give it to MAMMOSSER so that “she returns home”. A long passage at PH Sport was necessary in order to put it back in the exact configuration of the 1999 season. Its owner chose the Alsace Rallye Festival to make it perform its first laps.
