Following the tragic accident of the 1986 Tour of Corsica, the International Motor Sport Federation (FISA) under the direction of Jean Marie BALESTRE decides to ban the monstrous group B for the following season, real prototypes whose power is around 500 CV . For 1987, the FISA therefore imposes group A, a category resulting from production vehicles produced at least 5000 copies per year.
Lancia will develop its Lancia Delta by equipping it with a 2-litre injection and turbocharged engine associated with all-wheel drive. It will be the Lancia HF 4WD. It will be followed by a whole line of evolutions, Delta HF Integrale, Delta Integrale 16V and Delta HF Integrale Evolution.
From 1987 to 1992 Lancia won with its Delta 4WD and its big sisters Integrale no less than 6 consecutive world crowns with a record number of 46 victories and 4 driver's titles, 1987 and 1991 for Juha KANKKUNEN and 1988 and 1988 for Miki BIASION. A track record that remains unequaled for the same model to this day.
Cédric JACKY fell into Lancias when he was a teenager and never missed a summary or broadcast of the World Rally Championship. In the 90s, he became the owner of a HF turbo ie which was replaced by a 4WD then an EVO1. In the mid-2000s, in addition to the Evo, he decided to acquire a standard black HF Integrale and a Matter 6-point roll bar to do some regularity rallies in Germany. In 2012 it will undergo a first mechanical evolution with a forged engine and a short gearbox. In 2013 the car received a multipoint roll bar and became white with the famous MARTINI RACING colors
In 2017 it will be equipped with genuine latest generation competition shock absorbers, large brakes and reinforced running gear. New parts to improve performance and reliability as well as many accessories to get as close as possible to the 1988-1989 world championship model.
