Yesterday : Hannu MIKKOLA / Arne HERTZ - Rallye de l’Acropole 1987

After Group B was banned at the end of the 1986 season, Audi decided to enter the 200 Quattro to defend its colors in the WRC. A total of 12 cars were assembled by Audi Sport with Matter chassis numbers RL 0 to RL 11. This bears the number RL 8 and was registered in May 1987 with the plates IN-YV 75. Hannu Mikkola and Arne Hertz participated in the Acropolis Rally with it and, finishing 3rd overall, scored until Today is the last WRC points for the official Audi Sport team. A fine result for Mikkola's 100th WRC start. The car was then used as a mule for reconnaissance of the Rally of Finland still for Mikkola / Hertz. At the end of the season, the car was sold to Austria. Until 1991, Georg Fischer and his co-driver Thomas Zeltner took part in numerous events in the Austrian, European and world championships. For the 1989 Rally Sweden this Quattro was leased by Swedish importer VAG Sweden to Stig Blomqvist / Benny Melander who finished 5th overall despite engine misfires. In 1992, Raphaël Sperrer drove it in two exotic rallies in Africa. In the end, this car raced on four different continents (Europe, America, Asia and Africa).

In 1994 this 200 Quattro was sold to Sperrer Motor Sports and registered in 1995 in Austrian plates KI - 496J to serve as the zero car in the ARBÖ Mobil Rallye Aspang for Walter Röhrl / Harald Sperrer. In May 2007 it was sold to a German collector in Bavaria who sold it in 2013 to the current owner.
