Alongside its official commitment, Peugeot Talbot Sport has developed a competition kit for enthusiasts wishing to enter the 205 Turbo 16 in rallies. Twenty-five kits were produced, made up of engine parts (piston, liners, camshaft, exhaust, etc.), close gear ratios (3rd, 4th and 5th gears, the first two remaining standard), shock absorbers and 4 larger diameter ventilated brake discs. A competition crankset, rims and a roll cage completed the kit. The power thus climbed to 300 CV, however far from the evolutions 1 engaged by the factory, which developed 50 CV more and weighed 120 Kg less. But nevertheless sufficient to allow an amateur to have fun and even to enter the Top 15 in the World Championship.
Jacques Barberot, better known under the pseudonym of "Panic" is one of the rare drivers who entered a 205T16 300 HP kit. He competed at the wheel of a dozen rallies, finishing 15th in the 1986 Tour de Corse. When Group B stopped, he carefully kept the car, and regularly entered it in historic events. Jean-Bernard Prudhon acquired it after the death of its owner and continues to perpetuate the story by entering this rare car in historic events. The only original sprain, an engine deflated to 200 CV in order to preserve reliability.
