Yesterday : Gianni BESOZZI / Alessandro BRUSATI - Championnat d’Italie 1976
After its production in 1974, this Lancia Stratos Chassis 1805 was directly converted to a Group 4 rally car and then used under three different drivers in more than 50 events in Italy and Spain. In 1976 Gianni Besozzi drove this blue car in the Italian championship and was even leading after four overall victories, when, on the next event, they drove on a special stage over nails placed on the road and had to retire with four flat tires. Vudafieri became champion and Gianni Besozzi retired from rallying after the season.
In 2014 Claus Aulenbacher received an offer that Lancia Stratos chassis 1805 was for sale. The car was part of a collection in France which unfortunately completely burned including parts of the house attached to the garage. Claus bought the car and his goal was to turn this wreck into a high-quality car again, which took four years.
