In 2000, Fiat presented its Punto S1600 based on the second series of its city car. With one ambition: to allow young drivers to rub shoulders with the world's best in the Junior World Championship newly created by the FIA. If in 2001 the small Italian allowed Andrea Dallavilla to finish second behind Sébastien Loeb, it will never be able to compete at the highest level with the French cars.

The #CM 502 HS chassis was built by Procar and entered for Paolo Andreucci and Giandomenico Basso in various international events. At the wheel Basso will finish second in the 2005 European Championship. In 2008 Bernini Rally acquired it and entered it until 2013 in a large number of Italian events, before Franz Koob bought him in 2014. He put it back in its 2005 configuration, and has since entered it regularly in historic demonstration events.
